Established in 1936 on the east side of Detroit as a neighborhood tavern at the corner of Conant and Six Mile Road, Buddy's introduced the first Sicilian style square pizza to the metro Detroit area in 1946.
The key to Buddy's has always been our dedicated, hardworking employees. Many of our "old-timers" worked at the original buddy's and today still take pride in keeping those traditions alive in the new locations.
The crust is delicious crisp. The toppings are fresh and generous. The fresh tomatoes are a big plus. I started eating Buddy's pizza while attending U of D and it has been a favorite ever since.
Look, you can find decent pizza at a lot of places, but none of them comes close to Buddy's. The unique combination of cheeses, toppings, sauce and that amazing crust sets Buddy's well ahead of the competition. And don't forget the antipasto salad. I'm going there tonight!
Because they are THE ONLY CHAIN that has a healthy (multi-grain) crust!!!!!! (Besides Amici which is too far away.) Papa John's had a whole wheat crust for awhile but they discontinued it.
Best pizza in town! Have tried many and none compare to Buddy's. They have a wide variety of pizza pies and love the wheat crust. Best value. Lots of fun dining in and can take home with their convenient carry out service. The give great customer service! Thank you.
I am 60 years old and have been going to Buddy's since I was 6 months old. Although I now live out of state, it is still the best ever. Just ordered them and had them sent to Florida for a special dinner event. Wish they were also located in Florida.
I love the original Buddy's, not only for the pizzza but for the atmosphere and the bar, as well. The square pizza is the original from Europe and the bottom of the crust is always golden and crispy. I could eat a small antipasto salad, myself. Excellent!
Buddys has the best authentic taste and the crust is so good. My family is so picky about pizza and this is the one place we all agree on, I have to purchase two different pizza's & salad each time we select their pizza but it is worth it. EXCELLENT !!!
