If the new owners honor tradition, you find an unbeatable combo of great food in a historic setting. Wonderful proximity to market for fresh ingredients for a veggie omelet.

A trip to Eastern Market isn't the same without starting it off with a hearty breakfast at Butcher's Inn. One Saturday morning in the 1980's, I sat at a table next to Lee Iaccoca.

I like going there but it's just too bad that all the brothers of the daughters of bilitis here couldn't be just a little friendlier. God forbid the bartender should ever smile! Lighten-up guys! I'm a member of the church as well.
