Steve is very professional and friendly. He teaches you how the work with your dog so that you can continue even after the classes. He also works on more than just commands to help ward off future behavioral issues that may arise, and in different locations. I can't say enough good things about this training facility. The boarding and grooming at Common Scents is also top notch, the best I have found in Metro Detroit.

We welcomed our first dog into our family in 1987. Over the years we’ve adopted five dogs, collies and mixed breeds. We’ve lived with our dogs in more than one state so we’ve been to more than one training center. Common Scents is the best by far! You won’t find anyone better than Steve! Emma, the newest member of our canine family didn’t do well at a local puppy training class. We soon realized that she was different from our other dogs so we took her to Steve. We learned that Emma is terrified of strangers, both human and canine. Emma and I learned a lot during the year we worked with Steve. At first, Emma didn’t trust Steve, since he too was a stranger to her, but she eventually fell in love with him. I’ll never forget the first time she climbed into his lap, something she had only done with family members. Emma actually cries when she sees Steve with another dog. At the end of our brush up class in May I was waiting for Steve to greet his next student before I pulled out of the parking lot. Emma watched out of the back window and cried and cried because her best friend was paying attention to another dog. I’ve also watched Steve teach beginning and intermediate classes. His classes are better than any others I’ve attended. Steve does a demo with one of his German Shepherds for his beginning classes which I’ve had the pleasure of watching twice, you won’t want to miss it! And the training in his intermediate class is really impressive! So, if you have a new puppy, an older dog in need of training, a special needs dog like our Emma, or you finally have time to try agility with your dog than sign up with Steve right away, you won’t regret it.

I love their positive reinforcement methods of training. With their training my two shetland sheepdogs have earned their AKC CGC's and are now my official customer relations team at the laundromat business I own and operate the customers love them.

My wife and I take our Cocker Spaniel to Common Scents for Boarding, Grooming, and Training Classes. He starts wagging his tail every time we pull in the driveway. You couldn't ask for better service!

everyone at common scents is so friendly. we trained our dog there along with grooming and boarding him. he gets excited to go, he starts wagging his tail as we pull into their drive. i recently had a baby and we called to board our dog while i was in the hospital, it was very last minute and they were actually full, but accomodated us anyway. they are so great, i would recommend them to everyone.

My friend works there and she is the best, most dedicated dog trainer I know. She is very resourceful.
She has worked wonders with my own dogs. She is very proud of the facility. She is also very rescue oriented.
