Detroit Windsor Dance Academy is an amazing dance studio that not only teaches a variety of dance styles from ballet to hip hop to liturgical dance, it is a place where girls and boys are mentored into young women and young men.

Many of the teachers are former students that grew up at Detroit Windsor Dance Academy. These same students and others act as stage hands, dance captains, etc. in the different productions put on throughout the year. Many students have matriculated to university dance programs or professional studios. Students learn things like punctuality, service and having a spirit of excellence about all they do. Even those students that choose not to pursue dance after highschool graduation but instead pursue careers such as law, engineering, etc. find the social skills that are reinforced at DWDA very helpful.

Students are also afforded the opportunity to travel both within the United States as well as abroad. DWDA has traveled to the continent of Africa. Just last summer, the advance dancers spent a week in New York taking classes at the Alvin Ailey studio, Broadway Dance Center, an Afican /West Indies dance studio in the Village and ministered in dance at the Allen A.M.E. Liturgical Dance Conference Outreach Day.

If you want your child to be well rounded in dance as well as a young citizen, Detroit Windsor Academy is the studio to which you want to send your children. You will not find a better person with your children than Debra White-Hunt the director of the studio. She is both firm and affirming with the children. And of course her support team keeps things running smoothly. I give this dance studio a FIVE star rating.

Every year, I recommend DWDA to aspiring dancers. DWDA is a great place for dancers to learn the art of dance. There have been students who have left DWDA that became dancers whom have went on tours with celebrities, members of dance companies in New York City, and have taught dance in other countries... this is just to name a few.

DWDA IS the place to be!

My daughter, Cherise dances with DWDA. Her level of maturity in dance through the teaching staff at DWDA has been great. I also have enjoyed being on the Parent Support group "Friends" and volunteering to keep focused on the spirit of excellence.

DWDA is an amazing organization. In the past I was a student and it was an amazing experience. They offer a variety of classes for children and also for adults. I have danced for several years and their concert in June @ the Music Hall is top-notch!! Keep up the good work.

I have been with the DWDA family for almost 7 years, and I love them as my second family. The dancers are amazing and the professional and educational events and venues DWDA dances at are above the standard protocol of the typical dance studio. I also appreciate that DWDA focuses on technique rather than competitions to win trophies. I have had the pleasure of setting choreography on the Junior and Second Company for the past 7 years and they have always been such a wonderful group of dancers; they give such amazing life to my choreography and I love all of them very much. Debbie and Bruce have created a wonderful dance academy and I also love the teaching staff very much. I miss all of you more than word can say , see you in November!
BRAVA!!!!!!

The children are well developed and disciplined. DWDA brings out their best. The talent displayed by these young people from the training they receive is awesome; especially when you know how young most are. Their concert during their final performance every year is superb. Worth seeing for everyone!

This would be my second year at Detroit- Windsor and I am continuously loving and enjoying the environment I'm in. It's like I have another family, everyone is extra nice and when I came for the first time they took me and and treated me like family and that's something you rarely see. This dance school is making me love dance even more every time I go. I just love it! I would recommend all of my friends who love and have the passion to dance to attend Detroit- Windsor!

I have noticed positive growth in both DeAngelo Cheatom and Iesha Mitchell's dance skills. They both put in a lot of hours and hard work and it extremely evident. Keep up the good work! I feel that Detroit-Windsor Dance Academy is an excellent school.

Detroit-Windsor Dance Academy is by far the best teaching institution in the Tri-County area. Within a warm and nurturing environment, they not only teach dance, they foster honesty and integrity. Keep doing what you do!
