DYPAC (Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center)

Category: Theatre Group (45 listings)

A theatre group has been created which is thought to be the beginning brick of this larger dream. The existence of a theatre group will allow the communities to see the talent existing and will allow funds to be accumulated to further this goal. The creation of this theatre group is in no manner designed to compete with any existing group. The goal is for our facility to be all inclusive.

We have a group of talented and dedicated individuals who have made a commitment to try and achieve this dream. We expect this journey to be a long and probably difficult one, but we also expect much fun and friendship.

DYPAC is a wonderful group who goes above and beyond
to provide the opportunities for our youth to perform on stage, learn, explore and express themselves! They always put
the children first! Great Job!!

The volunteers and boad members who created this theatre group fondly known as DYPAC is an amazing vehicle to promote family values, children's self-esteem and confidence, and social skills. This not withstanding the enourmous opportunity for a child/teenager to receive theatrical experience along with vocal opportunities as a means of artistic expression. DYPAC is such a dynamic organization which offers scholarships for those who need along with unimaginable opportunities to learn costume, lighting, technical skills to inspire the entire family to a place of camaraderie and community experience as a whole. DYPAC is a unlimited resource for families to join and make a difference in their kids lives.

My family has been living in the Trenton downriver for over 8 years and have enjoyed many performances offered through
DYPAC.
I have also seen positive changes in the area Youths. If left with nothing positive to fill their day are often those who become troubled teens.

Fantastic summer program for children interested in the arts ... just about EVERY aspect of the arts! DYPAC teaches children so much more than how to perform, they focus on creating OUTSTANDING citizens.

Fantastic program, with great supervision to promote personal growth of the children, not only in the arts, but also as individuals.

My daughter attended the summer camp there a couple of times. The people there are all so friendly, and it's just a great place to have the kids do some fun acting classes.

They are concerned with creating a learning experience for their actors/dancers. Its about the people, not just the show.

Everyone at DYPAC (the people who work there and the kids who audition) is awesome. The productions at DYPAC are of the best quality and everyone wants to work hard to keep it that way. Everyone has fun and I fell like everyone there is family.

They have an amazing program for kids - especially their summer camp. Every 45 minutes kids can choose from 3-4 creative activities. You can come for an hour or the entire day.

People often associate youth theatre with a First Grade Christmas Pageant where kids are full of stage fright, costumes don't fit if they have one, lines are forgotten and the set is falling apart before the audience's eyes. This IS NOT the case with DYPAC. The attention to detail in every aspect of each of their productions, from the staging to choreography to costuming, sets and vocals, is very evident and simply outstanding. They take pride in what they do and it shows with their casts that are 100% committed to the cause, their parents and volunteers, and their Board. Definately worthy of being voted the best!
