In 1926, Frank Giglio, an Italian immigrant from Calabria, Italy founded a small grocery store just blocks away from Detroit's Eastern market. In a predominatly Italian neighborhood his products brought a part of "home" back to his friends in the area. He carried pastas, oils, olives, homemade sausage, lunch meats like mortadella, salami and prosciutto and a variety of cheeses.
Giglio's Market was a family run business and still continues that tradition today. Over the years our customers have grown to include many ethnicities and although the Italian specialties are still dominant, Giglio's has adapted to carry many hard to find products from all over the world.
We have been fortunate that our customers have allowed us to watch their families grow and we look to you watching ours grow.

Best specialty food market around. When I walk in there I want one of everything. Staff is friendly and the food (pasta sauces, dips, home made sausage, wonderful cheeses, olives) is terrific.
Gigilio's is truly the BEST - family, sausage, pasta, meats, cheeses, and more! I've been going for more than 45 years. They are the epitome of the family-owned, neighborhood market. This place makes the best Italian sausage in the metro Detroit area. It's the closest to the "old neighborhood market" that you almost never see anymore. I can get great imported Italian things there also. Try their spicy sausage and their Italian subs are awesome.
Best meat selection in the area, why go anywhere else. Only place in the Shores where you can get "Hog Wings" which are great this time of year on the grill. Prices and quality are better than the chains and where else can you go on Sunday afternoons during the NFL season and talk to the guys behind the counter about the Lions. Can't do that at the chains or across the street.
Giglio's has everything under the sun. Their sausage is all homemade. People come from all over the state to buy the sausage. They have a fantastic selection of meats and cheeses, as well as salads, olives and other fresh-made items. A terrific selection.
love everything about this store - the quality and the variety of meat, deli counter and the prepared italian specialties is incredible .. the staff is always ready to assist you and i prefer the coziness of this market compared to other over priced and crowded markets anyday!
