Hands down...the best sushi place in the country. It is better than any sushi place in California, Boston or Miami. Say hello to the Sushi Master Tot and he will never forget your name. I love the place. It feels like home. It is a hidden gem.
Super good sushi. Sushi Chef Tot is fun to talk to up at the sushi bar. Difficult to find on West 12 Mile Rd in Berkley, but well worth it once you find the place.
It is unfortunate that places like Cafe Sushi have the volume of customers to out vote Nippon Grille. Let me assure you I have tried sushi all over Michigan, all over the United States, and all over Japan and this is hands down the best tasting and best quality sushi you will find period. I am lucky to live near the best sushi in the world but let's not discount the other menu items like Yakisoba, Teriyaki Chicken Salmon or Steak, Tempura vegetable or seafood and the unbeiieveable bread pudding. Did I mention all this at affordable prices for everyone!!
Nippon Grille is the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to.
From the amazing prices to the great taste and fresh fish - the yellowtail is my favorite - I have had most of the items on the menu and love that they have a variety of delicious vegetarian foods as well as the traditional sushi, beef and chicken dishes. Many of which - like the yakisoba teriyaki and tempura - are great for people who are new to sushi.
The winter menu includes a shoyu ramen which is great to beat the cold weather blues, and their udon is available all year. My favorite dessert is their homemade bread pudding which provides a satisfying conclusion to any meal.
In addition to the great food and prices, I love that this is a family oriented restaurant and smoke free. It is very casual and Tot, the owner, is always working hard to make sure you have a great experience.
It is also useful to note that in addition to the parking and main entrance on 12 mile Rd. there is more parking and a second entrance in the back.
Yum! They have the BEST sushi! Everything there is so fresh and they don't skimp on the good stuff. Perfect for a great meal and even better for a party - the chef is amazing at what he does!
I was very skeptical about eating sushi and after trying it at Nippon Grille I was hooked! They have a great selection, great prices and the owner is super-friendly and remembers all of his customers by name. I'm excited they are serving lunch now!!
If you are looking for a warm, friendly environment with outstanding food, you should try Nippon Grille. As soon as you walk in the door, the owner greets you with a huge smile and warm hello. The "owners" treat everyone like family and take time and effort to prepare a wonderful meal for you. Amazing is a great way to describe Nippon Grille.
