Delicious sandwiches!! Grumpy owner guy working the counter I could do without. Sometimes he is very friendly, but other times you can catch him on a not so good day and be treated rather nastily. One time I saw him chewing out some out of town older family member who was visiting and helping out at the shop, and it almost made me cry for this poor guy! Pricy, but best sandwich place in this area- I'd give it 5 stars if I wasn't so wary of the one owner's moods! Oh- and this doesn't affect me personally because I always have to have my very own delicious sandwich here, but there is an extra FEE FOR SHARING a sandwich with another person- a buck or two- and I just think that is ludicrous! I have always noticed the posting of this "policy" behind the counter. Odd and greedy.
On my first (and only) visit to the copper Pickle I ordered a ruben sandwich which was very good. I bought a loaf of soda bread, which was also very good. I was having a wonderful first impression until I was ready to go and asked for a cup of ice water to take with me in a "to go" cup. The owner told me "no". I said "really" thinking he was joking and he said again "no". He told me that they cost 25 cents a cup and if I wanted water to go, I would have to buy a bottle of water. I was thinking how I just gave this man $10 for a meal in his resturaunt and he wouldn't give me water to go, knowing that this was my first visit to his resturaunt?? Well, I left doubting I would ever eat there again....not a very good first impression for me anyway..
Great little deli. If you are looking for a sandwich and a cup of soup, this is the place to go. Copper Pickle has the best deli sandwiches in town. The first time that I went there they offered me a sample of their pickle soup which doesn't sound very good but I was surprized that it was actually very good and I ordered a bowl with a sandwich. Nice atmosphere, old brick building with old wooden floors.
