Ah yes, the Madison Athletic Club. As for the facility itself, I give it a thumbs up.. Up-to-date equipment, first-class locker rooms. From the standpoint of just working out, it's a first-rate facility. That's about where the positives end, unfortunately. The Madison Athletic Club is run by its General Manager and a Club Manager. For lack of better terms, they run the club like their own personal playground. Customer Service seems non-existent when it comes to them and what they train their employees to do. Those in the Membership department smooth talk you until they have your name signed to a contract, then the only time they contact you is to try and get new member referals from you. And although the personal trainers they have there are decent, the personal training program itself is a joke. **SOME WARNINGS TO POSSIBLE NEW MEMBERS**.. although video monitored, there are car break-ins on a weekly basis in their parking lot, so do not leave any valuables in your car. Also, be weary when leaving your credit card or bank account information for billing purposes. I say this because all your personal information is kept where any employee there has access to it.
If all you care about is a place to workout at, and the other intangibles do not bother you, then go for it. But if you're looking for a combination of great equipment, friendly staff, and first-class customer service.. well then I recommend you look elsewhere.
