I love pets just as much as anyone else, but I'm asthmatic, so being where lots of pets can congregate is not good for me. Also, I'd be too worried that someone isn't watching their pet closely (like so many who barely watch their kids) and wonder if my kid will get bit.
I went there for the first time this weekend. The inside is fantastic, you feel like you are at an upscale restaurant. I loved the orange chicken. Very courteous staff, large portions, and the food came quickly. I'd definitely eat there again.
I've had deep dish pizza at all the big names in Chicago, but even they can't compete with PizzaPapalis' deep dish! Their sauce is perfect... from what one of the staff told me, they said they use special imported tomatoes that aren't as acidic, so the flavor is just right. The pepperoni is hand sliced thick. The lunch specials come quickly and are priced just right. Now if they could just open one in Ann Arbor (hint, hint, hint...)
Don't judge the place by the unassuming building exterior-this place is IT! Bangkok 96 is always packed at lunch and dinner, and with good reason. I've introduced several Thai loving friends to this place, and they won't go anywhere else after. Best bets: Pad Thai and Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce. (p.s. A little trivia... they provided food for scenes in Gran Torino and fed the crew! See the pictures posted inside the restaurant). It's the best Thai in the Detroit area, hands down!
I've been shopping there since the late 80's, and they have the same staff now as they did back then! What sets them apart is that they are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell. Their miniature selection upstairs is mind-boggling and the prices are reasonable. It never seems like the same store twice, since they get new stock in frequently, so you'll always find something new. Don't forget to check out the great clearance section in the back of the store!
